Articulate Storyline
I am proficient in leveraging Articulate Storyline to develop engaging and effective e-learning experiences. With a strong foundation in instructional design, I can translate learning objectives/outcomes into interactive and visually appealing courses. My skills include:
Incorporating a variety of interactive elements such as videos, simulations, gamification, and branching scenarios to enhance learner engagement
Designing formative and summative assessments to measure learning outcomes and provide valuable feedback
Employing data entry, JavaScript, conditional triggers, and variables to create sophisticated and engaging learning experiences
Tailoring the player to match specific branding guidelines and user preferences.
branching scenarios
To build the Storyline interaction below, I:
Defined learning objectives, mapped out the scenario's structure, and wrote the narrative with branching options and consequences.
Visualised the scenario's flow, including decision points, feedback, and potential outcomes.
Used Storyline's features (triggers, variables, layers) to build the interactive scenario.
Thoroughly tested the scenario to ensure smooth navigation, accurate feedback, and meaningful consequences.
Integrated the branching scenario into a Articulate Rise learning course, which was then uploaded to the LMS via SCORM file.
Branching scenarios transform passive video watching into active participation as learners make choices that impact the narrative, keeping them invested and motivated. By experiencing the consequences of their decisions, learners gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter. This active learning approach promotes better retention and knowledge transfer.
Branching scenarios allow for personalised learning paths and learners can explore different options and focus on areas where they need more practice or understanding. This allows for safe experimentation in a risk-free environment which is particularly valuable in an otherwise patient-facing role such as dentistry. We can also track completion of Storyline files within SCORM packages, meaning we can gain valuable data on learners' understanding and areas for improvement. This data can inform future training and development initiatives.
